Theory of Colours is an audio-visual composition for midi piano with live electronics and video. It develops ideas from Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s tract on visual perception, Zur Farbenlehre. The video motion is generated live by the actions of the player’s fingers on the electronic keyboard.

First performed by Nicholas Brown at the Marmalade Gallery, Oxford in June, 2007, produced by Oxford Contemporary Music.
